Kia EV9 Review: Big, Bold & Feature Packed Luxury SUV

Kia has launched EV9 in India at a starting price of Rs 1.3 crore (ex-showroom). This electric SUV is aimed at luxury buyers who usually go for German brands. Kia really hopes the EV9’s bold design, high-end features, and performance will turn heads around.

Striking Design: The EV9 comes to the Indian market in the top-end GT Line trim and looks like nothing else on the road. It has a futuristic front fascia with digital LED lighting, sleek vertical headlights and a wide bonnet. Along with that there are sharp lines, a floating roof and big 20-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, LED taillights flow down from a spoiler giving a bold look.

Spacious & Tech-Packed Interior: Inside, the EV9 feels like a luxury lounge. Kia offers a triple-screen Dashboard with two 12.3-inch screens and a 5-inch HVAC control display. A 14-speaker Meridian sound system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay is also present. It offers Comfortable seats with massaging and ventilation for the second row also. The Driver’s seat gets 18-way adjustments and front passenger gets 12-way.

Along with that the Third row also offers reclining and adult-friendly space. Twin sunroofs are available in the SUV, in addition with a powered tailgate, ambient lighting, and air purification. It also provides V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) feature to power external devices. EV9 is Loaded with Safety Features like 10 airbags, 360° camera, Level 2 ADAS with 27 features etc.

Power & Range: The EV9 is powered by a 99.8kWh battery pack and a dual-motor AWD setup. This produces 380 bhp power and 700 Nm of peak torque. The Electric SUV is capable of clocking 0-100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. It has a Top speed of 200 km/h. Fast Charging Options are also available, with a 350kW DC charger the car can attain 10–80% charge in just 24 minutes.

Driving Experience: Though the EV9 is huge and massive SUV, it drives surprisingly well. Acceleration is smooth and fast, suspension is firm at slow speeds, but comfortable at highway speeds. Cruising ability is excellent. Brakes are strong and regenerative braking with a single-pedal mode is very much useful.

Verdict: The Kia EV9 is a luxurious, powerful, and feature packed electric SUV that feels like a living room on wheels. It’s big, bold, and definitely a serious alternative to premium European brands.
