Kia Teases Flagship Sorento Hybrid SUV Ahead of India Launch, Bookings Begin

Kia India has teased the all-new Sorento, marking the arrival of the brand’s first hybrid SUV for the Indian market. Positioned as Kia’s flagship premium SUV, the Sorento will strengthen the company’s growing SUV portfolio and bring hybrid technology to its India lineup for the first time.

Official pre-bookings for the new Sorento have already commenced ahead of its launch, while Kia says more details will be revealed closer to the launch date.

Brand’s first hybrid SUV for India

The Sorento has been on sale globally since 2002 and is currently in its fourth generation.

According to Kia, the SUV has sold over 4.8 million units across 132 countries and ranked among the brand’s three best-selling models worldwide in both 2024 and 2025. It has also earned several global laurels, including the IIHS Top Safety Pick+, a 5-star NHTSA safety rating, and Car and Driver Editors’ Choice recognition.

Fresh design language

While the teaser keeps most details under wraps, it reveals several styling highlights.

The SUV features:

  • Tall, upright stance
  • Strong shoulder line
  • Wide road presence
  • Two-tier LED lighting signature
  • Illuminated front lighting graphic
  • Bold SUV proportions

Kia says the design reflects the Sorento’s premium positioning while offering the practicality expected from a family SUV.

High-end SUV with hybrid power

Although Kia has not revealed technical specifications for the India-spec model, it has confirmed that the Sorento will become its first hybrid SUV in the country.

The company says the SUV combines sophisticated design, advanced technology and premium family-friendly practicality, and will showcase Kia’s latest innovations when it arrives in India.

Bookings are open

Customers can now pre-book the all-new Sorento through authorised Kia dealerships or via the company’s official website. Pricing, powertrain specifications, feature list and launch timeline will be announced at a later date.
