Kinetic Engineering Ltd. (KEL) has made a comeback in the two-wheeler market by launching the all-new Kinetic DX EV, a made-in-India electric scooter. The launch happens through Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd. (KWV), KEL’s dedicated electric vehicle arm. The new DX EV brings back the iconic Kinetic DX, loved by many for its practical design and reliability, now updated with modern electric technology and Italian design touches. The scooter is designed as a true family vehicle, keeping the original spirit alive.
The Kinetic DX EV keeps its strong metal body and spacious floorboard. It offers the largest under-seat storage in its class—37 litres, enough for one full helmet, one half helmet, and daily essentials. The scooter uses a 2.6 kWh LFP battery from Range-X, which lasts up to four times longer than regular NMC batteries (2,500 to 3,500+ cycles). This battery is safer and more heat-resistant. The DX+ model can go up to 116 km on a single charge, thanks to Kinetic’s K-Coast regenerative technology and a 60V system for better efficiency. The motor can reach speeds up to 90 km/h and offers three riding modes: Range, Power, and Turbo.
Both the DX and DX+ come with reverse and hill-hold features. For comfort, the scooters have front telescopic and adjustable rear shock absorbers. Safety is covered with a 220mm front disc brake, 130mm rear drum brake, and combi-braking system.
Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman of Kinetic India, said the new DX EV is about bringing back the trust, innovation, and strength that made Kinetic famous. He believes the new features will make the DX a favorite in the electric scooter market and mark a new chapter for Kinetic and electric mobility in India.
The DX EV range comes with a dedicated mobile app. The DX+ offers advanced “Telekinetic” features like real-time ride stats, geo-fencing, intruder alerts, Find My Kinetic, Track My Kinetic, and more. The scooter even has a voice assistant called “My Kiney Companion” that greets the rider, gives safety alerts, and even wishes happy birthday! Both models have a Kinetic Assist switch for instant customer support via Bluetooth. Riders can also enjoy music and voice navigation through a built-in speaker.
Kinetic is limiting bookings to 35,000 units, with deliveries starting in September 2025. Customers can book their DX online at www.kineticev.in for just ₹1,000. The Kinetic DX is priced at ₹1,11,499 and the DX+ at ₹1,17,499 (ex-showroom, Pune). The DX+ comes in Red, Blue, White, Silver, and Black, while the DX is available in Silver and Black.
Kinetic Watts and Volts has already received ₹72 crores in funding, and the promoters have pledged another ₹177 crores to help scale up the DX platform. With the new DX EV, Kinetic is truly “Back to the Future,” blending its legendary past with modern technology to lead a new era of electric mobility in India.
