Venu Gopalakrishnan, an IT entrepreneur from Kochi, has become the first person in India to buy the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Series II — a luxury car with an on-road price of ₹16 crore.
Venu is the Managing Director of Litmus7 Systems Consulting Pvt. Ltd., a company that focuses on retail innovation using research and artificial intelligence. He received the car from KUN Exclusive, the official Rolls-Royce dealer based in Chennai.
Earlier in April, Venu made headlines when he placed a record bid of ₹46 lakh for a VIP car number — KL 07 DG 0007 — for his Lamborghini Urus Performante, which costs around ₹4 crore.
The Rolls-Royce was officially unveiled at a private event held at Chakolas Pavilion in Kalamassery, Kochi.
Known as one of the most advanced and dynamic cars Rolls-Royce has ever made, the Black Badge Ghost Series II is powered by a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 engine. It delivers more power and torque than the regular Ghost model. The car also comes with all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering, and a high-tech Black Badge Planar Suspension System for an ultra-smooth ride.
Inside, the car features stylish hand-woven carbon fiber panels and a black chrome clock that lights up. It also includes Rolls-Royce’s latest SPIRIT digital interface and access to the exclusive Whispers app for owners.
