Lighter Engine, More Power! Bentley Reveals New Bentayga Speed

Bentley has launched the updated Bentayga Speed, a performance-focused version of its luxury SUV, for global markets. The biggest change is under the hood—Bentley has replaced its signature 6.0-litre W12 engine with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, similar to the one in the Continental GT.

Unlike the GT, however, this SUV does not come with hybrid technology. Despite being smaller, the V8 makes more horsepower—641 bhp and delivers 850 Nm of torque. While the torque is slightly lower than the W12, the new engine helps the SUV loose 43 kg in weight, improving its performance.

As a result, it can now go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, which is half a second quicker than the previous model. It also hits a top speed of 310 km/h when fitted with carbon ceramic brakes. A sports exhaust system is standard, and customers can upgrade to a titanium Akrapovič exhaust for an even sportier sound.

The Bentayga Speed offers three driving modes: Comfort, Bentley, and Sport. Sport mode sharpens the drive by making the suspension 15% stiffer and improving steering feedback, making the SUV feel more responsive. The model also includes all-wheel steering, which enhances handling at both low speeds and high speeds.

Visually, the new Bentayga Speed keeps much of the same design as before but adds a few sporty touches. The headlights now have dark accents for a more aggressive look. Buyers can opt for a black roof, available in either glossy or satin finishes.

When it comes to wheels, there are 22-inch options in silver or dark tones, and 23-inch options in grey satin, black, or a black-and-machined combo. Inside, the SUV gets a sporty feel with ‘Speed’ logos embroidered on the headrests, adding a signature detail to the premium cabin.
