Magnite Goes Greener; Nissan introduces CNG Kit

Nissan has also entered the Indian CNG segment. The Company has announced that its popular compact SUV, the New Nissan Magnite, can now be fitted with a CNG kit approved by the government. This CNG retrofit kit is developed, produced, and quality-checked by Motozen, a third-party supplier.

The Brand says that this kit follows all national regulations. Motozen will also provide a warranty for the kit’s components. The installation will be done at authorised centres, and the entire package will cost an additional INR 74,999.

This new option is designed for environmentally conscious customers and will help reduce emissions. The rollout will happen in phases. In the first phase, customers in seven states—Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka—can order the CNG kit installation through official Nissan dealerships. More states will be added in the second phase.

The CNG kit is available only for the New Nissan Magnite that comes with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and manual transmission. It is expected to improve fuel efficiency. All installations will be done by government-approved fitters using certified kits that meet current safety and regulatory standards.

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, stated that the Magnite has been a strong performer in India and this new CNG option gives customers a practical and eco-friendly fuel alternative. He believes it will add even more value to the SUV.

The New Nissan Magnite already stands out with its bold design, over 20 unique features, more than 55 safety features, and a very strong road presence. It is now available in more than 65 countries, including both right-hand and left-hand drive markets.
