Mahindra has announced that the XUV 3XO ZNG has secured a five-star rating in the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP). It has become India’s first sub-compact CNG SUV to achieve the rating.
The XUV 3XO ZNG scored 29.36 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection and 45 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection. The result builds on the safety credentials of the standard XUV 3XO, which received a five-star Bharat NCAP rating in November 2024.

Mahindra says the SUV’s dedicated CNG safety systems are designed to provide additional protection for occupants.
Launched in October 2026, the XUV 3XO ZNG produces 109hp of power and 200Nm of torque in both CNG and petrol modes. It has a claimed fuel efficiency of 24.7km/kg.
The CNG system uses an underfloor twin-cylinder layout, allowing the SUV to retain a flat loading floor and 270 litres of usable boot space.
