Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch a special version of its most iconic luxury SUV — the AMG G 63 ‘Collector’s Edition’, on 12 June 2025. This exclusive model has been specially designed with inspiration from India, marking the first time an ‘India Inspired’ edition of the G-Class is being introduced.
The G-Class has come a long way since its global debut in 1979. Over the last four decades, it has evolved from a rugged off-roader into a highly desirable lifestyle SUV, without losing its bold and unique character. In India, the AMG version of the G-Class has earned cult status, with fans and collectors eagerly waiting for the next release.
The new ‘Collector’s Edition’ is a tribute to India’s vibrant culture and landscapes. It has been jointly designed by the teams at Mercedes-Benz India and Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India, showcasing their creativity and commitment to offering something truly special and amazing.
The launch will be officially announced by Santosh Iyer, MD & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, and Manu Saale, MD & CEO of MBRDI, during a virtual press conference on 12 June 2025.
Coming to the powertrain, the G63 Collector’s Edition is unlikely to get any mechanical updates over the standard model. The special edition will be powered by the familiar AMG 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine pushing out 577 bhp and 850 Nm of peak torque.
