MINI to Reveal New Adventure SUV AT Rebelle Rally

MINI is preparing an unrevealed adventure-focused SUV for its first-ever entry into the Rebelle Rally. The company will keep the model under wraps until a global debut shortly before the event begins on October 7, 2026.

The rally will see driver Felicia Killman and navigator Erika Ferrer tackle around 1,500 miles across the western US. MINI has not yet confirmed the model’s name, powertrain, or technical specifications.

No GPS, Just Maps and A Compass

Unlike conventional motorsport events, the Rebelle Rally focuses heavily on navigation rather than outright speed. GPS is prohibited, leaving teams to rely on maps, compasses and their ability to read the terrain.

Killman and Ferrer have trained across:

• Sand dunes
• Rocky terrain
• Loose surfaces
• Map-and-compass navigation

The pair have also worked on throttle and steering control, with navigation requiring careful decision-making throughout the event.

Built by BMW Group Engineers

The rally car was prepared as a side project by BMW Group engineers James Wallace, Dennis Heaphy and Eran Garma, who developed it alongside their regular work.

The focus has been on durability and off-road capability rather than outright performance. MINI says the engineers tested and refined individual mounts, brackets and panels to withstand the demanding conditions of the rally.

The SUV has been fitted with equipment from several suppliers, including:
