Mitsubishi Motors has unveiled the all-new Pajero, bringing back its iconic flagship SUV in a completely redesigned form. The new Pajero combines the model’s traditional off-road capability with a more premium interior, advanced technology and improved everyday comfort.
Production will take place in Thailand, with launches beginning in Thailand, Japan and Australia during fiscal 2026. Mitsubishi plans to introduce the SUV in around 100 countries from fiscal 2027, including ASEAN, Latin America and the Middle East.
The new Pajero retains a traditional body-on-frame approach, underlining its focus on serious off-road performance.
The SUV measures 4,920mm in length and gets a highly rigid ladder-frame chassis designed to improve durability, handling and ride comfort.
The Pajero now takes a significant step up in terms of cabin quality and technology.
The all-new Pajero gets a comprehensive suite of driver assistance features, including Forward Collision Mitigation, Emergency Lane Assist, Front Cross Traffic Alert and MI-PILOT highway driving assistance. It also gets eight airbags, including Mitsubishi’s first centre airbag.

The new Pajero appears to be a proper return to the model’s roots. Mitsubishi has retained the ladder-frame construction, diesel engine and serious four-wheel-drive hardware, while adding the luxury, technology and refinement expected from a modern flagship SUV.
It is a clear attempt to make the Pajero equally capable on difficult terrain and on long-distance family journeys.
