On August 10th in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, the MRF Mogrip Motocross Championship Round 2 saw Shlok make a determined comeback after an arm injury. With only a week of training on the bike before the race, Shlok faced a tough challenge to get back into competition shape.
Shlok started from the outer gate but didn’t get a strong launch. He patiently worked his way up to third place. During the race, another rider tried to push past him, and their wheels collided. This broke Shlok’s shift lever, forcing him to ride the last five laps stuck in first gear. Despite this, he managed to finish third.
Shlok picked the inner gate, but the race was red-flagged due to a false start. After the restart, he struggled with arm pump by the seventh lap, making it hard to control the bike. He was running fourth, but when riders ahead crashed, he moved up to second and held that position to the finish.
After the races, Shlok said, “My wheels were spinning at the start, and I had trouble controlling the bike in the corners. The suspension felt too stiff for the dry track, and the bike kept slipping when I tried to accelerate. I’m still working on finding the best setup and getting back to my old speed after my injury. This race was all about keeping up and finishing. I’m grateful for the support from my family and KTM India for helping me continue racing.”
Shlok and his parents will now head to a training facility in California until the end of August. He plans to return and continue competing in the MRF Mogrip Supercross FMSCI Championship series in October.
