The new generation BMW X3 comes with a longer name and a longer list of features. The model aims to strengthen the X3 portfolio for the Indian market, providing customers a wider range of variants to choose from. The new X3 joins the existing xDrive 20 petrol and xDrive 20d diesel variants.

What’s New?

The new model comes with a 2-litre four-cylinder inline petrol engine, generating an output of 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The exterior gets a new grille and panels to get an all-black treatment. The car also gets 20- inch M alloy wheels as standard. The interior features a new M steering wheel with flat bottom as seen in the new BMW M5. However, the car is priced at a handsome sum of ₹74,50,000.

Exterior & Dimensions

The X3 is 4,755 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,865 mm. The signature Beemer kidney grille gets glow illumination to live up to its rather lengthy name. Useful features include Adaptive LED headlights with high beam assistance and cornering lights.

Buyers also get to opt for the M Aerodynamic package with larger intake in the front promising a sportier look. Completing the look would be a the already standard 20-inch M wheel and larger M sport red brakes as an attempt to do justice to the extra money.

Interior & Features

The inside of the BMW X3 features a rather minimalist design. The interior gets BMW Curved Display. This fully digital screen groups both 12.3-inch infotainment and 14.9- inch instrument cluster. The driver gets heads-up display as standard.

The model also gets sports seats with active ventilation and lumbar adjustment for front passengers only. The car also gets a panoramic sunroof for added luxury. The audio front features a 15 speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system with 750 watts of power.

Driving Dynamics

The company says the new model is equipped with BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology, helping the car be responsive in low-speed situations. Aiding the engine is an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The car accelerates from 0 – 100 km/hr in 6.3 seconds. A figure not too bad for a family SUV. The model also features ECO PRO mode intended for efficiency and a 50:50 weight distribution for balanced power

Safety in the New X3

The car includes eight airbags, dynamic stability control (DSC), cornering brake control (CBC), Hill start assist and hill descent control. Adding to the safety is a crash sensor and child seat mounting.
