Nissan Tekton Debuts in India at ₹10.49 Lakh

Nissan has officially unveiled the all-new Tekton in India. The new midsize SUV is the brand’s second launch of 2026 and will be built at Nissan’s Chennai plant for both India and export markets.

Interestingly, the Tekton shares its platform and powertrains with the upcoming Renault Duster, but gets a completely different design and interior. Prices start at ₹10.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Turbo engines only

One of the biggest highlights of the TEKTON is its all-turbo petrol lineup.

Customers can choose from:

  • Turbo T160 with a 6-speed manual
  • Turbo T280 producing 160 hp and 280Nm
  • 6-speed manual or 6-speed DCT gearbox
  • Claimed fuel efficiency of up to 19.4kmpl

Nissan sadly doesn’t offer the new model in the hybrid avatar, which could be a deal-breaker for customers who prioritise fuel efficiency.

Interior Highlights

Inspired by the Nissan Patrol, the Tekton features a bold front grille, C-shaped LED lighting and connected LED tail lamps. It also features a 518-litre boot space till parcel tray.

Inside, it gets plenty of equipment, including:

  • Dual digital screens
  • Google built-in with Maps, Assistant, and Play Store
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Powered and ventilated front seats
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • 48-colour ambient lighting
  • Wireless charger

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Autonomous Emergency Braking
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Blind Spot Warning
  • Driver Attention Alert
  • 360-degree camera

Final Take

The Tekton gives Nissan a proper shot at one of India’s biggest SUV segments. Sharing its DNA with the new Renault Duster means the package is already proven, while Nissan has added its own styling and a long list of features to stand out. If the driving experience matches what’s on paper, Nissan could finally have the product it has been waiting for.
