Range Rover Goes Electric: Same Soul, New Power

What happens when a legend goes electric? Meet the all-new all-electric Range Rover — a luxury SUV that’s embraced the future without forgetting its iconic roots. With modern EV tech under the hood and classic Range Rover style all around, this is a bold new chapter in the brand’s story.

Designed to Be Electric From Day One

This isn’t a quick EV conversion — the electric Range Rover was built with electrification in mind right from the start. It shares its MLA platform with the existing petrol, diesel, and hybrid models, but it’s been carefully engineered to house a massive 118 kWh battery, all without sacrificing space, comfort, or capability.

The result? It looks and feels just like a Range Rover. Only a few minor changes — like sleek wheels and a flat underbody — hint at its all-electric nature.

Technology That’s Purely Range Rover

JLR has filed 67 patents specifically for the electric Range Rover’s battery and drivetrain tech. That’s a big deal. It shows the brand’s commitment to creating an EV that meets the same high standards as its combustion-engine siblings — not just borrowing parts off the shelf.

Off-Road Power Meets On-Road Grace

The electric version keeps all the signature Range Rover capability, including dual-motor all-wheel drive and serious off-road potential. But the big battery gives it a new edge — a lower center of gravity, meaning it corners flatter and rides more confidently. Rear-wheel steering and clever new software add to its smooth, composed feel on tarmac.

The Quietest Range Rover Ever Made

EVs are naturally silent, but this one takes things to another level. JLR has gone all-in on noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) control to make the cabin ultra-quiet. And if you miss a bit of driving sound, don’t worry — you can pick from three custom sound modes: Calm, Normal, and Dynamic, thanks to a bespoke audio design.

High on Demand

Though only passenger impressions are available so far, the first experience confirms one thing: it still feels like a Range Rover. Global excitement is sky-high, with over 62,000 pre-orders already in. India alone has nearly 500 bookings, despite no official word on launch date or pricing yet.
