JLR has revealed the Range Rover Sport Electric and opened bookings for the model in India. It is the first fully electric version of the Range Rover Sport and uses a 118.5kWh battery with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup.
The SUV produces 550hp and 850Nm, with a claimed 0-100km/h time of 4.5 seconds. Its claimed WLTP range stands at 609km.
550hp Dual-Motor Setup
The Sport Electric is based on JLR’s 800V MLA-Flex platform and gets the following specifications:
- 550hp and 850Nm
- 609km claimed WLTP range
- 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds
- Up to 350kW DC charging
- 10-80 per cent charge in 22 minutes
- Up to 220km of range added in 10 minutes
The battery is covered by an 8-year or 1.6 lakh km warranty, whichever comes first.
The SUV also gets air suspension, twin-valve dampers, active roll control and all-wheel steering. JLR says the body is 61 percent stiffer than the ICE model, while its centre of gravity is 73mm lower.
Familiar Range Rover Sport Design
The electric SUV largely follows the design of its combustion-engined sibling, with slim LED headlights, a black grille, flush door handles and blacked-out pillars.
It can be equipped with wheels measuring up to 22 inches, while the rear gets familiar wraparound LED tail-lights and Range Rover lettering.
Four variants are offered: Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, Autobiography and First Edition.
Familiar Cabin
The cabin retains the basic layout of the existing Sport, including a 13.1-inch infotainment screen and 13.7-inch digital driver display. Both receive EV-specific menus.
Other features include four-zone climate control, wireless charging, rear sunblinds, and heated and ventilated seats for the front and rear.
India Launch and Expected Price
The Range Rover Sport Electric is expected in India by March 2027 as a fully imported model. It is expected to cost around ₹2.5 crore, although the final price has not been announced.
