Rolls-Royce and IIT Bombay Join Hands to Boost Engineering Talent and Innovation

India’s technology and engineering sector is growing fast. The country is focusing more on building its own skills and abilities, thanks to its large pool of tech talent, strong education system, and a culture that supports new ideas. As different industries need more advanced engineering, it is important to support research and turn it into real, useful solutions. Working closely together, colleges and companies can help create skilled talent, encourage innovation, and make India more competitive.

With this goal, Rolls-Royce has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay). This agreement will help both sides share knowledge, improve skills, and work together on projects that interest them both. As part of this partnership, Rolls-Royce is welcoming IIT Bombay students for internships with their defence engineering team in Bengaluru.

Prof. Sachin C. Patwardhan (Dean R&D, IIT Bombay) and Mr. G S Selwyn (Executive Vice President, Rolls-Royce India) signed the MoU. Mr. Alex Zino (Director Business Development and Future Programmes, Rolls-Royce UK) and other senior leaders from both sides attended the event.

GS Selwyn said that this partnership shows Rolls-Royce’s commitment to working with top institutions to support innovation, develop talent, and lead in technology. He believes that by working together, industry and academia can create new solutions and open up more opportunities. Rolls-Royce looks forward to sharing knowledge and learning from the experts at IIT Bombay.
