Tata Motors has expanded its Re.Wi.Re (Recycle with Respect) network with the inauguration of a new Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) in Patna, Bihar. Spread across 5.5 acres, the facility has the capacity to safely dismantle 15,000 end-of-life vehicles annually and is designed to process vehicles of all brands, including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
The new facility was inaugurated by Shri Damodar Rawat, Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Government of Bihar, and is operated by the Kalahanu Bothra Group.
The minister said the facility supports the objectives of the National Vehicle Scrappage Policy by helping remove old and unfit vehicles from roads while encouraging owners to switch to safer and more fuel-efficient vehicles.
Commenting on the inauguration, Rajesh Kaul, Vice President & Business Head – Trucks, Tata Motors, said the Patna facility marks another step in building an organised ecosystem for end-of-life vehicles in India.
He added that Tata Motors now has the country’s widest network of registered vehicle scrapping facilities, with the combined capacity to responsibly dismantle nearly 2 lakh vehicles every year.
