Hero MotoSports Team Rally, the racing division of Hero MotoCorp has welcomed Tobias Ebster, a Rising Star in Rally Racing, to their international team after his outstanding performance in the 2024 season.
27 year old Tobias comes from Zillertal, Austria, and has quickly made a Name for himself in the world of Rally Racing. He began racing just four years ago with the Hellas Rally Raid, building on his strong background in motocross and enduro. His big breakthrough came in 2022 when he won the FIM Bajas World Cup in Dubai. Along with that he followed that up with a win in the Rally 2 category at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, beating many experienced riders.
Despite his racing career, Tobias has kept a flexible lifestyle by working various jobs such as landscaper, taxi driver, plumber, pizza delivery rider, and carpenter all to support his training and racing needs/ expenses.
In his first Dakar Rally, Tobias impressed everyone by winning the “Original by Motul” category (for riders with no support team) and finishing in 20th position overall. He was named Best Rookie and earned his Dakar entry through the “Road to Dakar” initiative. In the following Dakar 2025, now racing with support, he finished an incredible 9th position overall, making him the top privateer of the event.
Tobias will make his first appearance with Hero MotoSports later this month at the South African Safari Rally, which is also part of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC). He will be racing alongside experienced teammates Ross Branch and Nacho Cornejo.
