Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is celebrating 20 years of the Toyota Innova in India, marking a major milestone for one of the country’s most trusted and loved vehicles. Since its launch in 2005, the Innova has sold over 12 lakh units across its three versions—Innova, Innova Crysta, and Innova HyCross—becoming a symbol of reliability and value for Indian families and businesses.
Mr. Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President of Sales, Service, and Used Car Business at TKM, said, “The Toyota Innova has built a deep emotional bond with customers over the last two decades. It’s trusted for its comfort, reliability, and spaciousness, making it a top choice for families and businesses alike. The Innova stands strong as a benchmark for quality, durability, and smooth drivability.”
The Innova has continuously evolved to meet the changing needs of Indian customers. When it debuted in 2005, it redefined the MPV segment with its comfortable ride, spacious interiors, and strong build. In 2016, Toyota introduced the Innova Crysta, which brought a new design, powerful engine, and premium features. In 2022, the Innova HyCross arrived, introducing self-charging hybrid electric technology to the lineup. The HyCross combines a 2.0-litre gasoline engine with an electric drive, offering 186 PS of power and best-in-segment fuel economy. It features a panoramic sunroof, automatic LED headlamps, a bold grille, and advanced safety features.
The Innova HyCross quickly became popular, reaching 1,00,000 units sold in India by November 2024, just two years after its launch. This success highlights Toyota’s commitment to sustainable mobility and advanced technology.
The Innova’s success comes from its blend of comfort, practicality, and adaptability. Toyota has always listened to customer feedback, adding new safety, connectivity, and convenience features while keeping the driving experience intuitive and enjoyable. The Innova is known for its long-term ownership value, making it a dependable companion for every stage of life.
Toyota supports Innova owners with its T CARE after-sales ecosystem, which includes services like quick delivery, vehicle protection, health monitoring, and transparent service practices. This approach ensures a smooth ownership experience from purchase to repurchase.
The Innova has become a part of daily life for millions of Indians, from city commutes to long road trips. Its legacy is built on trust, transformation, and timeless value. With over 12 lakh units on Indian roads, the Toyota Innova’s journey is far from over—it’s simply entering its next chapter as a symbol of exceptional experience and customer satisfaction in India.
