Yamaha’s Electric Aerox E Scooter Launched in India at ₹2.81 Lakh

Yamaha has expanded its electric two-wheeler lineup in India with the launch of the Aerox E, priced at ₹2.81 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The sporty electric scooter becomes Yamaha’s second EV for the Indian market after the EC-06, carrying forward the familiar Aerox 155 styling with an all-electric powertrain.

Performance & Battery

Powering the Aerox E is a 12.6 hp electric motor, delivering a claimed top speed of 95.5kmph.

The scooter is equipped with two removable 1.5kWh battery packs, offering a claimed IDC range of 117km on a full charge.

Riders can choose between three ride modes:

  • Eco
  • Standard
  • Power

There’s also a Power Boost function that provides a temporary burst of acceleration for quicker overtakes.

Features

The Aerox E retains the sporty hardware of its petrol sibling and comes equipped with:

  • 14-inch alloy wheels
  • Telescopic front forks
  • Twin rear shock absorbers
  • Disc brakes at both ends
  • Single-channel ABS
  • TFT instrument cluster
  • Smartphone connectivity
  • Turn-by-turn navigation
  • Weather updates
  • Call and SMS alerts

Price

The Yamaha Aerox E is priced at ₹2.81 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), placing it well above most electric scooters currently on sale in India.

Final Take

The Aerox E stays true to Yamaha’s performance-oriented philosophy with impressive specifications and premium features. However, its steep asking price puts it in a niche segment, where buyers will likely weigh its sporty appeal against more affordable electric alternatives before making a decision.
