The Tata Tiago has received one of its most comprehensive updates yet, bringing fresh styling, a revamped cabin, and feature additions across the range. We sampled the petrol, CNG, and EV versions to see whether India’s popular hatchback has moved the game forward.
Key updates include:
The updated Tiago gets a noticeably fresher look. The redesigned front bumper, sleeker headlamps, and eyebrow-style LED DRLs help bring it in line with Tata’s latest design language. New alloy wheel designs further enhance the visual appeal.
However, panel gaps and alignment inconsistencies remain noticeable in certain areas, something Tata still needs to address.
The real improvements are inside. The dashboard feels cleaner, more modern, and significantly more premium than before. New AC vents, thoughtful storage solutions, and a larger touchscreen improve both aesthetics and usability.
The redesigned seats deserve special mention, offering noticeably better comfort and support during longer drives. Physical controls have also been retained, making everyday operation easier.
Mechanically, the Tiago remains unchanged.
Engine and powertrain options:
The petrol remains easy to drive, although throttle response in the manual version can feel slightly delayed. The i-CNG continues to be the value champion, while the EV remains refined and effortless in city conditions. Across all variants, ride quality remains one of the Tiago’s strongest attributes.

The 2026 Tata Tiago feels more mature and premium than ever before. While issues such as hard plastics, inconsistent panel fitment, and the glitchy rotary controller persist, the overall package is stronger than before. For buyers looking for a practical hatchback with multiple powertrain choices, the Tiago remains one of the segment’s most compelling options.
