Tata Motors will finally unveil the production-spec Sierra EV on June 30, 2026, marking the return of one of the brand’s most iconic nameplates in an all-electric avatar.
The Sierra EV first appeared as a concept at the 2020 Auto Expo before returning in a more evolved form at the 2023 edition. Tata later teased the near-production version alongside the ICE-powered Sierra in late 2025, giving enthusiasts a clearer look at the SUV’s final design.
The Sierra EV will become the seventh model in Tata’s growing electric vehicle portfolio and will sit between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV.
What to Expect:
- Built on Tata’s Acti.ev+ architecture
- Likely to borrow the Harrier EV’s 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs
- Rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants confirmed
- AWD is expected to be exclusive to the larger 75kWh battery pack
Tata’s Chief Commercial Officer, Vivek Srivastava, had previously confirmed that the Sierra EV will be offered in both RWD and AWD configurations.
EV-Specific Styling
While the Sierra EV shares its overall shape with the ICE version, Tata has given it several EV-specific design elements.
These include:
- A blanked-off front grille
- Revised front bumper design
- Unique EV badging
- Potentially different alloy wheel designs
The updates should help visually distinguish the electric model from its petrol and diesel counterparts.
Feature-Rich Cabin Expected
The Sierra EV is expected to carry over much of the ICE model’s interior layout.
Top variants could feature:
- 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
- 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen
- 12.3-inch passenger display
- Panoramic sunroof
- Head-up display
- Powered and ventilated front seats
- Premium audio system
- Multiple drive modes
Lower variants are likely to use a dual-screen setup instead of the triple-screen arrangement.

Expected Price and Rivals
Tata is expected to price the Sierra EV between ₹18 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it neatly between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV.
Once launched, it will take on rivals such as the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV and Maruti e Vitara.
With AWD capability, multiple battery options and a nostalgic nameplate, the Sierra EV could become one of Tata’s most important electric launches yet.
