All-New Nissan Juke Goes Electric for the First Time

Nissan has taken the wraps off the third-generation Nissan Juke, and for the first time, it’s fully electric.

Revealed at the company’s global Vision event, the new Juke marks a clear shift in direction. It keeps the bold, slightly quirky identity the model is known for, but moves into the EV era with a completely new platform.

A Familiar Shape, Now Electrified

Since its debut in 2010, the Juke has always stood out. Over 1.5 million units later, that design-first approach hasn’t changed.

What has changed is what’s underneath.

  • Built on the new CMF-EV platform
  • Fully electric powertrain for the first time
  • Designed to retain its distinctive crossover personality

The idea here is simple: keep the character, modernise the experience.

Part of a Bigger EV Push

The Juke EV isn’t arriving alone. It’s part of Nissan’s expanding European electric lineup, which already includes:

  • Nissan Leaf (third generation incoming)
  • Nissan Ariya
  • Nissan Townstar
  • Upcoming electric Micra replacement

The new Juke will also support Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) tech, meaning it can interact with the power grid, something that’s becoming increasingly important in Europe.

Not Just EVs Yet

Even with this push, Nissan isn’t abandoning hybrids.

Its e-POWER technology will continue alongside EVs, offering:

  • An electric-like driving feel
  • No need for charging
  • Flexibility for buyers not ready to go fully electric

Models like the Juke hybrid and Qashqai e-POWER will remain in the lineup for now.

Launch Timeline

The third-generation Juke EV has been revealed early, but it won’t hit the roads just yet.

  • Global debut: Nissan Vision Event
  • Expected launch: Spring 2027

The Bottom Line

The Juke has always been about standing out. That hasn’t changed.

What has changed is the direction:

  • Fully electric for the first time
  • Built on a dedicated EV platform
  • Still focused on design and personality

For Nissan, this isn’t just another model update; it’s a signal of where the brand is heading in Europe.
