Channing Tatum’s New Movie Could Bring the Isle of Man TT into Spotlight

The Isle of Man TT may soon find itself in front of a much larger audience. Hollywood actor Channing Tatum is currently on the island filming Isle of Man, a new movie being produced by Amazon MGM Studios, and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment.

Key Highlights

  • Channing Tatum stars in the upcoming film Isle of Man
  • Amazon MGM Studios, and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment are backing the project
  • Filming is taking place during the real 202 Isle of Man TT event
  • BMW has supplied motorcycles for the production
  • Experienced TT racers are handling many of the high-speed riding scenes

Focus on Authenticity

The filmmakers have reportedly spent several years researching the TT and working closely with organisers. BMW has supplied motorcycles for the production, while experienced TT racers have handled many of the high-speed riding sequences.

Beyond the racing itself, the movie is expected to showcase the island, celebrate its culture, and capture the atmosphere that surrounds race week.

A Difficult Story to Tell

Any film about the Isle of Man TT faces a unique challenge. The event remains one of the world’s most dangerous forms of motorsport, and this year’s edition has already seen several serious incidents, including the death of rider Daniel Ingham during qualifying.

The film will need to balance the excitement and spectacle of the TT while acknowledging the risks that have been part of the event.

Filmed during the real TT

Rather than recreating the event elsewhere, the production has involved itself in the real 2026 TT races. Filming has taken place around the paddock, grandstands, and start line, with Tatum joined by actors Eve Hewson and Ciaran Hinds.

Like Brad Pitt’s F1 movie, the production is filming during actual Formula 1 race weekends, adding an extra layer of authenticity to the project.

Why it Matters

The Isle of Man TT is one of motorsport’s most iconic events, yet it remains relatively niche outside motorcycle circles. If the filmmakers get the balance right, the Isle of Man could introduce the TT to millions of new viewers around the world.

For a race that has spent decades on the sidelines of mainstream motorsports, this movie could prove to be an impactful one.
