Nissan Gravite Launched in India: The Newest sub 4m MPV in the Market

The new Gravite is based on the same CMF-4+ platform as Renault Triber. Also, it’s no secret the Gravite is a rebadged version of the latter. However, the new model takes a break from the basic design language the previous Triber had.

Exterior & Design

The company has given the Gravite a significant cosmetic upgrade, notably the front grille featuring a honeycomb pattern. Other changes include, unique wheel designs, sportier DRL (day-time running lights). The Gravite also features new colour options namely, Forest green, onyx black, blade silver, snow white and metallic grey.

Limited Edition Top Trim

There’s a limited run (1,001 units) “Launch” variant featuring orange accents and to the C shape inserts and white tyre print decals on the sides.

Price & Availability

The Gravite range starts from ₹5.65 lakh and tops at ₹8.93 lakh. The base price can only be availed on the first 5000 units. Bookings are now open for the Gravite across dealerships in India.

Engine & Power

The engine front of the Gravite features a 1.0 litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine same as its Renault counterpart. The engine puts out 72 hp and 96 Nm of torque. Assisting the engine is a 5-speed gearbox available both in manual and automatic versions.

Mileage & Efficiency

Nissan claims 19.3 kmpl from the manual variant and the automatic to deliver 19.6 kmpl. Not a stark difference between both versions.

Interior & comfort

The insides don’t differ much from the Triber. The seating layout remains the same 5+2 configuration. But the colour choices and trim options remain. The driver gets a three spoke flat bottomed steering wheel and ample storage space. The higher variants get a central 8-inch touch infotainment screen and 7-inch digital driver’s display.

Other notable features include Android Auto and Apple Car Play, auto start/stop push button, rain sensing wipers, cruise control, automatic LED lamps, automatic climate control, parking sensors, steering mounted controls, tire pressure monitoring system, wireless charging pod and a cooled glove box

The limited edition “Launch” variant gets JBL sound system, ambient lighting, cabin air purifier and dual-channel dashcam and much more.
