Renault India has announced that the new Renault Duster Turbo TCe 100 has achieved an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure of 19.41 km/l.

The company says the figure highlights the balance between performance and efficiency offered by the SUV’s new turbocharged petrol powertrain.

Turbocharged Petrol Engine

The new Duster is powered by a:

1.0-litre Turbo TCe petrol engine

The powertrain produces:

  • 98 hp
  • 160 Nm torque

It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Renault says the engine has been tuned to deliver responsive performance while maintaining strong fuel economy across a variety of driving conditions.

Built on a New Platform

The Duster Turbo TCe 100 is based on Renault’s RGMP platform.

According to the company, both the engine and transmission have been specifically engineered and calibrated for this architecture. Renault claims the combination helps improve:

  • Efficiency
  • Drivability
  • Overall refinement

While ensuring the SUV remains suitable for both urban and highway use.

Focus on Everyday Usability

Renault says the turbocharged engine uses:

  • Efficient combustion technology
  • Turbocharging

To provide a stronger low-end response without compromising fuel efficiency. The company believes this setup offers customers a practical balance between running costs and everyday performance.

Final Take

The Renault Duster’s claimed fuel efficiency of 19.41 km/l should help strengthen its appeal in the competitive midsize SUV segment.

While buyers often associate turbocharged engines with higher performance, Renault is positioning the new Duster as a package that combines efficiency, drivability, and practicality, making it a strong contender for customers seeking an economical petrol-powered SUV.
