Triumph Motorcycles has achieved a major milestone in international racing, with the Daytona 660 securing its first-ever victory in the FIM Sportbike World Championship.
The breakthrough win came during Round 5 of the championship at Italy’s Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, where Bruno Ieraci delivered a stunning performance aboard the CM Triumph Factory Racing Daytona 660.
The victory marks a significant moment for Triumph’s middleweight sportbike, which has steadily emerged as a frontrunner in the championship since making its racing debut.
Starting from seventh on the grid, Ieraci fought through the pack and took the lead midway through the race.
The Italian rider then held off intense pressure from his rivals to secure the Daytona 660’s maiden world championship victory at his home circuit.
The Misano round wasn’t just about a single victory.
Triumph also secured another podium finish during the weekend, further highlighting the Daytona 660’s growing competitiveness in the series.
Misano weekend highlights:
Ian Kimber, Head of Global Racing Programmes at Triumph Motorcycles, said the result demonstrated the bike’s capability in one of the most competitive middleweight championships in the world.
The race success further bolsters the Daytona 660’s credibility, which was designed to bridge the gap between everyday usability and track-focused performance.
At the heart of the motorcycle sits Triumph’s familiar 660cc triple-cylinder engine.
Engine specifications:
The Daytona 660 combines strong mid-range performance, a high-revving character, and agile handling, making it one of the most versatile options in the middleweight sportbike segment.
The FIM Sportbike World Championship now heads into its summer break before returning in September.
Triumph and its partner teams will look to build on the momentum from Misano as they continue their campaign in the highly competitive category.
