Kawasaki has updated the Vulcan S for 2027 with a few mechanical and cosmetic changes. The cruiser now gets 1.4 Nm more torque from its 649cc engine, along with revised brake disc sizes and a new colour.
Priced at ₹8.23 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2027 Vulcan S costs ₹10,000 more than the model it replaces. Deliveries are set to begin in mid-September 2026.
The 649cc parallel-twin engine now produces 62.4 Nm, bringing back the torque figure seen on the 2024 model. Power remains unchanged at 61 hp, with no change to the engine’s rev range.
The key mechanical changes include:
The Vulcan S continues with disc brakes at both ends, but the rotor sizes have been reduced for 2027.
The suspension remains unchanged, with a 41mm front fork offering 130mm travel and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock with 80mm travel.
The cruiser retains a 705mm seat height, while ground clearance remains at 130mm. Kerb weight is unchanged at 235kg.
The 2027 Vulcan S is offered in a single Metallic Carbon Gray colour with bluish-green highlights, replacing the previous Metallic Flat Spark Black finish.
The Vulcan S still has no direct rival in the segment, although the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 remains a considerably cheaper alternative at ₹4.05 lakh.

The 2027 Vulcan S is a relatively small update, with the return of the 62.4 Nm torque figure being the biggest mechanical change. The new colour adds some visual freshness, while the smaller brake rotors are an unusual change for a model that otherwise carries forward much of its existing specification.
