Ford India Sales Record 19,988 Vehicles in September  

· Ford India domestic wholesales in September at 8,239 units; Exports grow to 11,749 vehicles

· Bookings for the New Ford Aspire, the latest compact sedan, begin across Ford dealerships; Pan-India launch and price reveal on October 04, 2018

· Employees in India culminate Global Caring Month with volunteers contributing across 47 projects in Chennai, Sanand, Gurgaon/NCR and Coimbatore

NEW DELHI, October 01, 2018 – Ford India’s combined domestic wholesales and exports in September registered 19,988 vehicles, compared to 16,525 vehicles in September 2017.

The domestic wholesales in September recorded 8,239 vehicles leading up to the new model introduction of New Ford Aspire on October 04th as against 8,769 units in the same month last year. Exports grew to 11,739 vehicles compared to 7,756 units in September 2017.

“The festival season has started on a lower than expected note, owing to floods in Kerala, rising fuel prices and Rupee depreciation, the industry is looking forward to closing the festive season on a higher note,” said Anurag Mehrotra, president & managing director, Ford India. “At Ford, we are excited to bring the New Ford Aspire on October 04 and look forward to welcoming customers at our dealerships.”

Leading up to the all-important launch, the month of September also witnessed Ford employees come together to celebrate the spirit of volunteerism as part of the Global Caring Month. With close to 47 projects across Chennai, Sanand, Gurgaon/NCR, the company announced the expansion of its ‘Happy Schools’ initiative in Gurgaon/NCR among other things.

Focused on bridging the gaps with the introduction of a unique art-based-curriculum, the Happy Schools program in Gurgaon/NCR will cover 10 Government/ Aided primary schools in the first phase, benefitting more than 1000 children.
