Chennai: Riding on the back of their performance of this season, Honda riders are all geared up for Round 4 of the championship this weekend in Chennai.
Leading from the front, Honda racers have topped the charts in both Pro-Stock 165cc and Super-Sport 165cc categories in qualifying round held today at Madras Motor Race Track, Chennai.
Mithun Kumar PK gave his best shot and secured pole start in the qualifying round with a best lap time of 1:59.301. Giving Honda the double spot in top 3 was Senthil Kumar who qualified 3rd with a lap time of 2:00.510. Meanwhile, Anish Shetty, the leader in championship so far finished 8th. The pro stock races over the weekend will play a key role in deciding who takes on the crown home this season.
Leading with 141 points and 17 points margin, the Honda trio of Anish, Mithun and Senthil are ready to further Honda’s current count of 10 podiums including 4 wins.
Super Sport 165cc
Leading the charge of Honda, Rajiv Sethu secured the first pole start with the best lap time of 1:54.999. Riders S. Mathana Kumar and Sarath Kumar qualified with 5th and 7th positions. Heading towards Round 4, Honda holds a total of 179 points with a count of 8 podiums including 2 wins in the super sport category and reserves the hope of strong results in the upcoming races.
