2018 Ford Aspire Review

The changes we are witnessing today in the Indian automotive scene are the result of the mid 1990’s automotive revolution and Ford in India is one of those manufacturers that started off this movement with their sedan the Ford Escort and has been successful throughout their journey till date.

The Ford Figo Aspire is one of those model from the Ford portfolio that has gained good acceptance in the compact sedan market since its launch, despite the fact the world being obsessed with SUV’s. Manufacturers still offer and come up with the latest compact sedan’s with time.

The Ford Aspire in its 2018 avatar leaves behind figo from its middle name in the process making a mark of its own. With the new Aspire fords doesn’t intent for making a change to its well accepted looks but does their job with few cosmetic tweaks on the out side. More of these changes are seen on the front fascia of the vehicle with the new chrome studded grill, C shaped chrome treatment near to the fog lamp cluster all adding to successfully giving a premium look to the front.

The side profile of the Aspire has continued to have the same looks. Were as the rear gets changes on tail lamp cluster and air vents at the bumper. The top of the line model gets 15-inch alloys for the new Aspire.

Stepping inside the Aspire there is nothing much that has changed except the addition of rear camera the new 7-inch touchscreen multimedia infotainment unit with android auto and apple car play and the most interesting part that Ford has offered it across the variants. The new instrument console is also an attractive part of the new ford Aspire. There is good amount to space for the rear passengers and the front co-passenger on offer in terms of head room, leg room and shoulder room. The AC unit also does its job well in keeping the cabin cool. Beside all of this the new Aspire gets all the safety features including air bag.

For those wondering what really Ford made a difference with the new Aspire well they got you covered with their all new two power trains the 1.2L petrol engine that produces 96 ps of power and 120 nm of torque and a 1.5L diesel engine that produces 100 ps of power and 215 nm of torque both these power trains are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission unit. Beside this a 6-speed automatic gear box is available with the older 1.5L petrol engine. Ford assures mileage figures of 20.5 km/l and 26.1 km/l on the new petrol and diesel engines.

Suspension setup on the new Aspire is developed by Ford India keeping in mind the India road condition’s and the drive ability and handling of the new Aspire is no different from the other Ford vehicle that never disappoint any enthusiast.

Ford India has kept the pricing of the new Aspire starting from 5.55 lakhs to 8.95 lakhs.
