Bangalore Hosted The Largest Daimler DigitalLife Day

The two-day event provides the platform for Daimler employees across the country to showcase new ideas and innovations

After the three exciting editions of Daimler DigitalLife Day in Germany, it was held in our own Bangalore, hosted by Mercedes-Benz Research & Development India (MBRDI). This two-day event gave MBRDI employees a unique opportunity to interact with a vibrant mix of renowned industry experts, entrepreneurs, global leaders and tech innovators. It was the largest DigitalLife Day ever organized with record participants of 3000.

DigitalLife@Daimler bundles the various digitalization activities and supports digital transformation across all divisions at Daimler. Being a premium car manufacturer, Daimler AG also plays a leading role in digitalization and mobility services as well. The employees attended hands-on workshops, market booths, panel discussions and various technical activities in this two-day fest. The Daimler AG has been heavily investing in this sector inorder to attain a leading position in the industry. Therefore, the company aims to strengthen all its subsidiaries based on their strategy called C.A.S.E, which stands for Connected, Autonomous, Shared & Services and Electric.

Representing Board of Management of Daimler AG, Mr. Ola Källenius said: ” The skills of our teams here in India are impressive and perfectly fit our requirements for digital product development and IT. They play a very important and integral role in our global strategy that focusses on future customer demand”. Mr. Jan Brecht, CIO of Daimler AG mentioned some of the key points of digital transformation and thereby the topics discussed at DigitalLife Day is supposed to play a key role in the automotive industry.

From 1996, MBRDI has grown from a workforce of 10 to 4600+ employees making it as the largest R&D center for Daimler outside Germany. It is steadily growing as a valuable partner for all brands of Daimler across the globe. As of now, there are four Daimler entities like Mercedes-Benz India Ltd. (MBIL) for passenger cars, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) aka Bharat Benz, Daimler Financial Services (DFS) which works as Mercedes-Benz Financial Services for passenger cars and Bharat Benz Financial Services for commercial vehicles and Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India Private Limited (MBRDI) located in Bangalore.

The STARTUP AUTOBAHN: After successfully launching STARTUP AUTOBAHN in Germany, Singapore and China, the innovation platform now expands to the Indian soil on scouting local startups with creative solutions for the future of mobility and production. This new initiative was also launched by MBRDI during DigitalLife @ Daimler summit.
