BMW Group Auto Expo Plans Revealed, 6 New Models Coming

BMW Group which consist of BMW, Mini and Motorrad Auto Expo plans revealed. The German giant is going all out with 6 launches at Auto Expo and 3 new launches coming later in 2018. Lets start with BMW, the company will launch 6 Series GT which will take on fully loaded long wheelbase E Class at the premium end. The 6 Series GT is basically the liftback version of the successful 5 Series sedan. BMW will offer both petrol and diesel engine options with 6 Series GT and it will be priced between Rs. 60 – Rs.70 Lakhs.

The next launch from BMW is the high performance M5 which was revealed at Frankfurt Motor Show. The M5 is powered by 4.4 L Bi-Turbo V8 engine producing 600 HP of power and 750 NM of torque. This engine is mated to 8 speed automatic gearbox. For the first time, M5 is available only in all wheel drive configuration but BMW has given the option of switching to rear wheel drive only in settings for enthusiasts. BMW M5 comes to India as a fully import model, so the price will be around Rs. 1.7 Crore.

The next launch from BMW is i8 Roadster which was revealed yesterday at L.A Auto Show. The i8 Roadster within two months of International launch. Like M5, i8 Roadster also comes as fully import, so expect prices to be above Rs. 2.5 Crore. Apart from three launches, BMW will also showcase new generation X3 which will be launched later in 2018 and new i3 but it won’t be launched in India.

Mini will showcase its entire lineup at Auto Expo. The launch model for Mini is new generation Countryman which made its global debut earlier this year. The Countryman will come in both diesel and petrol engine options. The most practical model in Mini lineup will be priced around Rs. 40 Lakhs.

BMW Motorrad is going to showcase G 310 R and G 310 GS. But sadly both these models won’t be launched in India at Auto Expo as the launch is planned to happen later in 2018. BMW Motorrad will launch F 750 GS and F 850 GS at Auto Expo. Both these models was revealed at EICMA earlier this month. BMW Group stand is going to be one of the largest one in Auto Expo.
